Verdict

Coupled with a decent gaming monitor, the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 is a great performer when it comes to gaming and heavy applications. It not only packs enough computing power to handle modern titles like Doom at decent frame rates but also has the gamer-centric looks to match. We think this is a great choice for gamers who prefer AMD GPUs over NVidia ones. The CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 is also a perfect companion for FreeSync monitors out there so keep that in mind when purchasing a monitor.

P/S We recommend the VIOTEK GN32C 32″ Curved Computer Gaming Monitor if you are looking into buying a 1080p FreeSync ultra-wide.

DESIGN AND FEATURES

CyberPowerPC gaming rigs have always maintained the aggressive design characteristics like multi-colored RGB lighting favored by most gamers and the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 is no different. The beautifully designed tower case used on this model looks quite epic. It consists of smooth metallic panels as well as tempered glass. The three full RGB fans that can be seen through the front glass panel are a scene to behold. We love the overall design of this case, it’s beautiful and also premium looking. Cable management as seen through the tempered glass side panel is done to perfection – something you cannot achieve easily on a personal build.

The gaming keyboard and mouse also carry on with the gaming design with sharp edges and bright colors. The mouse especially looks quite epic with the glowing CyberPowerPC logo at the top, red buttons on the sides as well as the perforated surface where the thumb normally rests.

CyberPowerPC has really killed it in making the Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 have the loud and aggressive looks that most gamers look for in a pre-built PC. That clear glass front panel that showcases those three rings housing the front fans is a major highlight of this gaming PC. This is one area that will solicit a lot of attention and be a major head-turner.

Input Devices

The gaming mouse that comes with the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 is quite a gem. It’s one of the best-designed stock mice we have come across. Aside from the epic looks, it is surprisingly comfortable to hold, very responsive and snappy. The only disadvantage is that it’s a wired mouse since we prefer wireless mice to achieve a clean setup.

The gaming keyboard is also great. Apart from the eye-catching design, this keyboard features red dedicated media buttons next to the numeric keypad allowing the function keys to be free for other stuff like weapon selection while gaming. The keys are extremely responsive and have decent key travel as expected since this is a gaming keyboard. This keyboard has a decently sized palm rest that greatly improves comfort on long gaming sessions.

CONNECTIVITY

Ports

Port selection on the CyberPowerPC GXIVR8020A4 is excellent. We get 6 USB 3.1 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports. Two of the USB ports are located at the front edge of the top panel for easy access. For display output, we get the essential DisplayPort and HDMI output. Other ports include a mic/headphone jack and Audio 7.1 channel jack at the back for audio output.

Wireless

The CyberPowerPC GXIVR8020A4 not only comes with a gigabit Ethernet port but also includes an 802.11AC Wi-Fi adapter which is nice to see since most desktops tend to come without Wi-Fi connectivity.

PERFORMANCE

This pc is powered by an Intel Core i5-7400 that uses Intel’s B250 Express Chipset and has a base clock speed of 3. 0GHz. It has 8GB DDR4 physical memory and a 1TB HDD. Solid state storage (SSD) Storage isn’t included but this can be added to the motherboard on this unit provides room for SSD installs. The processor on the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 is a decent performer despite not being a high-end chip. It has enough power to handle heavy workloads and games as it has above average clock speeds and power efficiency.

Graphics and Gaming

The graphics unit is the most intriguing choice for this PC. Current trends in the industry have seen the price of AMD graphics cards skyrocket thanks to the demand from crypto-currency miners and enthusiasts. The AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB Video Card on the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 is especially popular with Ethereum based miners as it was built with AMD’s Polaris architecture that makes it efficient and flexible for crypto-mining. This has made the price-tag on this mid-tier card quite high and having it bundled with our CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 is quite epic.

Another big advantage of having an AMD card is we get to save a lot of money by getting a FreeSync monitor. Gamers looking into building their own PC often have had to choose between getting a relatively cheap Nvidia card but having to part with more cash when it comes to getting a decent G-Sync monitor or competing with crypto-miners and buying an expensive AMD card but saving money on a FreeSync monitor. However, this is a dilemma we don’t have to face since the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 rocks AMD graphics hence we can comfortably pair it with an affordable FreeSync monitor like the VIOTEK GN32C 32 ultra-wide.

Gaming Performance

Crypto-mining aside, the RX 580 still remains a video card so we get to enjoy mid-tier titles such as Rocket League, Doom and Titan fall 2 at pretty decent frame rates of over 100fps on high settings. Heavier titles like Rise of the tomb raider, PUG and Witcher 3 play at over 60fps on high settings which is still great by our standards.

Overall the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 is a great performer when it comes to gaming. The video card adds an extra layer of versatility.  That’s great for light crypto-mining, graphics editing, video editing, and other heavy tasks.

CONCLUSION

The CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A4 is a beautifully assembled gaming rig that has all the characteristics gamers look for. It’s loaded with premium components like the AMD card, Core i5 processor as well as a versatile motherboard. All these are essential for future upgrades. The case used on this PC is nice to look at and RGB lighting is done perfectly.
