Design and Features

The HP ENVY 750-177c desktop comes in a compact 20.4 x 19.4 x 9.6’’ case that has this elegant and professional look that complements any professional desk setup. The exterior is elegantly done in a brushed aluminum finish devoid of signage or ugly buttons except the simple and modern HP logo etched at the front and sides. The surfaces are also surprisingly averse to fingerprints and smudges.

This small tower PC really impresses in terms of looks and overall build quality. The metallic case feels sturdy and definitely durable. One can’t help but appreciate its sheer elegance and sophisticated looks.

Its slim 20.4 x 19.4 x 9.6’’ design allows it to easily fit on any decently sized office desk. Other notable features include a pre-installed and licensed copy of windows 10 home and Bang & Olufsen State-of-the-art audio.

The HP ENVY-287c Desktop also has a Blue-Ray optical drive which you can use to read and write optical disks-a great feature as most business applications still come in CD installers.

Input devices

The HP ENVY 750-177c also comes with a USB keyboard and optical mouse. The keyboard is a typical full-size HP keyboard designed ergonomically for prolonged usage. The keys are really nice to type on as they are well spaced out and have a nice travel.

We were able to average a typing speed of 80WPM. The mouse has amazing optical tracking and feels comfortable to hold. The keys just require a soft press to register a click. Overall, these peripherals are sufficient for office usage. We did not feel the need to purchase a different mouse or keyboard.

Ports

This business desktop comes with all the essential I/O connections required in a typical office setup. It has a Media Card Reader, four USB 2.0 ports, four USB 3.0, two HDMI ports for display output (allowing us to connect two displays directly to the HP ENVY 750-177c) and a Headphone/Microphone Combo jack.

There are High Definition Audio outputs with up to 5.1 surround sound capabilities for users who would like to connect external sound systems even though the internal bang and Olufsen sound provide amazing sound quality.

Connectivity on the HP ENVY 750-177c Desktop is great. It comes with both wireless and wired connectivity. For Wi-Fi, it has inbuilt 802.11a/b/g/n/ac. Performance

This PC is powered by an Intel Core i7-6700 processor based on Intel’s Skylake architecture. This is a quad-core CPU with a base clock speed of 3.4 GHz equipped with Intel’s Turbo boost technology revision 2. It’s one of the most popular flagships in Intel’s 6th generation release perfect for business machines like the HP ENVY 750-177c due to its multiple cores and clock speeds that drive multi-tasking workloads.

The core i7-6700 processor integrates an Intel 530 Graphics Card for smoother graphics performance.

RAM and Storage

Other performance components include a whopping 16GB DDR3L physical memory. We wish it was DDR4 but the 16GB installed is more than enough for any type of work you throw at the HP ENVY 750-177c. Internal storage is a 2 TB HDD mounted on a serial ATA-600 interface that spins at 7200 RPM.

With modern businesses and professionals moving towards cheap and secure cloud storage, the 2 TB drive installed on the HP ENVY 750-177c is more than sufficient for your offline storage needs. We, however, with the HP ENVY 750-177c came with fast SSD storage but luckily, the motherboard does provide an M.2 slot for SSD installation.

Performance on the HP ENVY 750-177c is impressive. Running multiple applications like office 365, Adobe cc and other business applications is smooth. We had tens of tabs open on chrome while streaming videos on YouTube as we ran updates and other operations in the background and the HP ENVY 750-177c kept up, thanks to its powerful processor and 16GB RAM. Fan noise is also not an issue.

Motherboard

There’s an ordinary uATX Odense motherboard with H110 chipset on this HP Envy.
