You may have the knowledge and expertise to build your own gaming pc at a slightly lower cost. The keyword here is “slightly”, Cyberpowerpc and other pre-built gaming pc manufacturers save you the time, hassle and potential hurdles you may face by building a functional gaming pc for you on the cheap. Powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 3.0GHz Eight-Core processor and the AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB Video Card the Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A is a finely build a gaming rig that will absolutely destroy anything you throw at it. Tests that we did for this review saw this pc perform above and beyond our expectations.

There are many reasons why Cyberpowerpc gaming desktops are favored by many of the elite e-sports gaming legends and streamers. One is the vast amount of raw computing power you get from a Cyberpowerpc unit. This is obviously very important for competitive gaming – slight delays in renders could allow an opponent to gain advantage and destroy you before you even have a chance to blink. I personally think the aesthetics of Cyberpowerpc gaming rigs also contributes a lot. If you are looking for a pre-built gaming pc capable of crashing all your favorite modern AAA titles, handling high resolution streaming to services like Twitch and basically anything you throw at it, then the Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A is the perfect rig for you. Update 10th Aug 2019: The Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A is not available on Amazon anymore. So we recommend going for this year’s favorite, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8500A desktop.

Design and Features

The Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master series of desktops take the concept of RGB lighting and aggressive design to another level. This PC features an elegantly designed metallic tower case with a tempered glass side panel. The RGB lighting does not stop at the interior as is the norm with most gaming rigs, the front panel is covered in a bright multi-colored mesh of LED strips. All the colors are customizable using Cyberpower’s utility software or even better, the RGB remote that comes with the system.

Incidentally, the gaming keyboard and mouse also feature RGB lighting. Further, the keyboard backlighting can be customized to match your preferences-7 colors are supported.

Looking at the interior, you will begin to appreciate the build quality you get from a professional gaming manufacturer. The cable management on the Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A is something close to 99% perfection. This kind of neatness is something you will definitely struggle for hours and even days to achieve in a home build.

You can get the Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A Desktop in two colors; black and red. We think the red option is quite epic especially with the RGB lighting on, this monster is sure to attract a lot of wows and stares. But sadly, the black option is what is available at Amazon currently.

The Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A is a VR ready machine. VR gaming enthusiasts with all the peripherals from Oculus or Vive just need to plug and play.

Storage

There is plenty of storage on the Cyberpowerpc GMA2200A. It comes with a 2TB HDD spinning at 7200 RPM. The absence of SSD storage is kind of a bummer but the motherboard does have empty slots to allow for SSD drives to be installed.

This PC also features 24X DVDRW Dual-Layer Drive and a licensed Genuine copy of Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system. This is something that you will need to keep in mind when deciding whether to build your own pc or buy a pre-built. The operating being part of the package will save you a couple of bucks and bring down the cost as compared to buying individual components for a personal build.

Input devices

The gaming keyboard included with this PC is epic. Aside from the 7 color backlighting, the keyboard has dedicated media buttons and huge palm rest with a beautiful backlit Cyberpower logo at the Centre. This is a very nice mechanical keyboard. The keys are very responsive, tactile and key travel is just what you need for intensive gaming. No wonder E-sports legends like team Solomid prefer Cyberpower rigs. One major disappointment in the Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A is the gaming mouse. We’ve said this before in our other Cyberpower reviews and we will say it again here, if you are a serious gamer, you should probably ditch the stock mouse and buy a serious gaming mouse like the Logitech MX Master 2S (our recommendation) or any other reasonably priced mouse. It’s pretty darn expensive for a mouse you might think – here are some more affordable options from Logitech as well as other brands.

Ports

The Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A desktop comes with all the ports you would ever need for all your peripherals. At the back, there are 2 USB 3.1 one being a quick charge 2.0 port, four USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, two 1 RJ-45 Network Ethernet port, a 7.1 audio output channel 7.1 , one display port, and one HDMI port adding up to a total of fourteen (14) ports. Talk about covering all the bases!

One of the most important features when it comes to connectivity in any gaming pc is the presence of Ethernet. The Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A desktop does come with a gigabit Ethernet port capable of speeds of up to 0/100/1000 Mbps. As expected this pc does not have inbuilt Wi-Fi connectivity but who needs Wi-Fi in a gaming rig anyway?

Alright, perhaps someone out there may need it, especially with the WiFi wave that’s coming through. There are plenty of options for that, but here are some of our favorites: Anewkodi, BrosTrend, and Netdyn among others.
Bluetooth is also not available with this unit. However, you can get an external Bluetooth adapter for that. You will find lots of options. The good thing is that there is an abundant supply of USB ports to cater for these adapters.

Performance

With all the 8 cores of the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 3.0GHz processor paired with the AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB Video Card at its disposal, the Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A is sure to annihilate all major AAA gaming titles without a hitch – but how does it perform?

AMD Ryzen 7 processor is an intriguing option for the Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A desktop gaming pc. This model has a base clock speed of 3.0GHz and can boost its cores to 3.7 GHz. It’s a beast when it comes to multi-threaded applications like video encoding adding an extra layer of versatility to the Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A. This CPU annihilates its key rival-the Intel Core i7-7700K on multi-threaded tests.

We first pushed the graphics card and CPU to the limit with a couple of Benchmarking tests like Geek bench and Cinebench and the results were quite impressive, to say the least.

The AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU released early 2017 is a minor upgrade from the previous RX 480. It’s a faster twin fanned monster rivaling the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 made for users who didn’t fancy the RX 480. The RX 580 is AMD’s latest graphics card designed to handle Full HD and 1440p resolution. It ships paired with 4GB of GDDR5 memory that achieves up to 1340MHz boost clock speeds.

Gaming Prowess

Paired with the right monitor, this GPU will allow you to play modern AAA titles at full HD and up to 1440p resolution. Our reviewed unit is the 4GB edition but there is an 8GB edition if you can afford it. The AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU on our CyberPowerPC desktop is not overclockable, but there are models out there with expensive overclocking applied. Avid gamers can enjoy higher clock speeds from the standard 1360MHz up to 1411MHz. However, if you can’t afford them, don’t worry. While they are great to have, they won’t make the difference between your game being jerky and playable.

Moving on, on our gaming tests, we compared the AMD Radeon RX 580 to the Nvidia GTX 1060. It’s on Battlefield 1 that the RX 580 realized its versatility over the Nvidia 1060 playing on high settings and 1080p resolution. The RX 580 consistently offered 10fps over the Nvidia 1060. On Ghost Recon Wildlands, the Nvidia GTX 1060 surged ahead against the RX 580 with better scores managing 59.5fps and 49fps respectively.

On our final test, we paced the RX 580 and Nvidia 1060 on the demanding Rise of the Tomb Raider title. The results were a bit different with each card clinching a win in either category. On 1440p resolution, the RX 580 was more dominant with 0.2 fps more than its competition. Meanwhile, on 1080p resolution, the Nvidia 1060 emerged ahead against the RX 580, a minor difference but substantial enough to mention.

Here’s a great benchmark test you can use to have a good feel of where the Nvidia’s 1060 card stands against the RX 480.

So is the RX 580 a good catch?

After using the AMD 580 4GB graphics card, this Polaris architecture does really impress. It’s a definite improvement from the RX 480 predecessor offering top spot performance for 1440p resolution. However, even while 1440p was clearly to have dominated AMD’s mind in this build, it does support some decent Full HD resolution. The card has great power consumption drawing up to 374W on AAA gameplay like Hitman. Also, the card dissipates some heat but the Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A case and body allow for plenty of airflow. That means you won’t have much heating trouble with the system while under load. Speaking of load, the Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A desktop runs quietly under load and normal load.

Finally, you can opt for either the 8GB or 4GB option. The RX 580 8GB GDDR5 card costs about $250, which is a couple of dollars short of Nvidia’s GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5. One more thing we loved was the additional ports that come packed with the card. There’s brilliant value in the extra ports; you get 3 Display ports, HDMI port, and a DVI port for external connections. If you need a great monitor to go along with this CyberPowerPC, the Sceptre C328B-144KN Monitor is a decent choice.

Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A Review: Conclusion

The CyberPower Gamer Master GMA220A gaming PC is a beautiful desktop as compared to close rivals: The Acer Aspire XC-330-UR11 sporting the same CPU-AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060; the Dell i5675-A957BLU-PUS Inspiron 5675 features an AMD Ryzen 7 still an AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card among others.

The Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A is cheaper and better equipped in comparison. Indeed a great bargain.

Update 10th Aug 2019: The Cyberpowerpc Gamer Master GMA2200A is not available on Amazon anymore. So we recommend going for this year’s favorite, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8500A desktop.
